FIVE RECENT FASHION/ BEAUTY NEWS

I always make it a priority to stay up to date with what’s happening in the world especially in the fashion and beauty realm because as a lifestyle blogger and content creator, I am in the space and work with brands in the industry. I like to use what’s currently happening to either spread awareness about a certain cause or event or to show my support. Here are five top stories that I thought were important:

1. Kate Spade’s Passing: This month’s fashion/beauty news recap is a bit bittersweet as we remember the life of Kate Spade and all the milestones that she achieved in the fashion industry. She took her own life at 55, stunning and leaving many fans of her work and dear loved ones in shock including myself. It is at times like these where you realize you never know what is going on in another person’s personal life no matter how glamorous it may look on the outside. She will be remembered for generations as an influential figure and a pioneer of women’s fashion. I think this is a wake up call for us to talk more about mental health and not shy away from the topic because it is honestly important to have a dialogue about this issue.  If you have a friend or family member that may be suffering, try to reach out to them or find help. You never know the gravity of someone else’s issues so always think before speaking and find help where you can.

   
   

2. Lunar Beauty: Your favorite male beauty Youtuber, MannyMUA, has finally launched his first product of his very own line. Lunar Beauty has been in the works for two years and his first product did not disappoint. The “Life’s A Drag” palette is drag queen inspired and is absolutely stunning. With a total of 14 shades ranging from neutral to pops of color, anyone can create a look with this palette. There is an overwhelming positive feedback from other beauty reviewers and I personally cannot wait to get my hands on it. I can’t wait to see what else he releases from his line!

   

3. Fanny packs: During the course of 2018, we have seen a comeback for the classic 80s accessory. With luxury brands such as Gucci coming out with their own style of fanny pack, fast fashion companies like Zara and H&M are quickly catching onto the fad. Personally I love rocking a fanny pack as a statement piece to my outfit. They are also extremely comfortable and convenient to to carry your everyday items.

   

4. Fenty Beauty Summer Collection: I’m sure that everyone has seen Rihanna’s Instagram video with her new Fenty summer collection. Every time there is a new Fenty launch, the internet goes nuts for the products. This season they have three new Killawat highlighters, six lip luminizers, and two liquid eye shimmers. The colors are so fun, bright and perfect for the summer. These new products in addition to the Body Lava and Fairy Bomb are sure to make you shimmer and glow throughout the entire season. Would you guys be getting your hands on them?

   

5. Eggie Summer Drop: Jenn Im’s clothing line just dropped their summer collection and the pieces are just amazing for the warm weather. This is probably one of the more feminine and flirty launches and I am all about it! The collection is full of ruffles, florals, and fun designs. I adore the “Party Mom” graphic tee as well the Wrapped Up Dress. I have always been a fan of Jenn Im’s style and the summer launch is probably the best collection to the date. I am actually working with them for this drop so stay tuned for the outfits I chose and how I style them!
