What an incredible two weeks! I just wrapped up NYFW 2017 and it was a crazy, but beautiful experience to say the least. I attended several shows and many parties, events and social gatherings. I definitely filled up my schedule compared to last September and I wanted to quickly recap some of the trends I saw at the shows including Malan Breton, Jill Stuart, Nolcha Shows and Sherry Hill.

Malan Breton: Hands down, this was my favorite show because the production was incredible! Breton started his runway show with amazing lights and the introduction mirrored a movie trailer/ dance performance. I was very impressed because I felt like he put thought into it and the concept really made him stand out. His collection consisted of elegant looks sticking with neutral colors, bold strong makeup and a great combination of angelic gowns to structured sets and coats. I definitely found myself in awe in some of the pieces and wish I could rock them. This was also the first time I attended a show at Madison Square Garden and thought it was the perfect location to present his collection. I really admired the actual production of the show in addition to the pieces and he has now become of my favorite fashion designers!

Milané Noir: I was excited to attend the Milané Noir show because I received the invitation a while ago and love supporting emerging brands. The story behind the brand was inspiring and the designers were down to earth, relatable, young and fun! I absolutely fell in love with all of their clothing and their theme has inspired me to go to Cuba so I think that’s my next trip after I come back from Spain!

Jill Stuart: This was a presentation that took place in an open space where the models rotated from one rise to another. Although the set up was pretty chaotic since everybody wanted to take pictures of the models, I admired the clothing and was able to get close up views of the pieces. I would describe her collection as Victorian with lots of ruffles, velvet, long skirts, and structured blazers. All of the models resembled a Parisian look, which I admired and they were definitely playing their part even though it was madness. I thought the pieces had an elegant and angelic feel with contrasting bold statement accents.

Nolcha “Ones To Watch” Runway Show featuring Mariana Valentina (Arabian Architecture-inspired statement dresses), Son Collection (Vietnamese womenswear), Just In Case (men’s and women’s streetwear from Taiwan), Chèlbè (made especially for tall women 5ft11+), and Stevenson University (a collective of students debuting their take on the little black dress): I love going to the Nolcha shows because I am able to see emerging designers and appreciate the different styles and inspirations behind the collections. I liked that this show included five designers because I was able to see the different collections back to back and compare the differences in all the pieces. There were some that played it safe but I prefer the ones who went a little more extreme and bold.

Sherry Hill: I was super excited to attend Sherry Hill because I love all her dresses and knew that I could see myself wearing one of them. I loved the collection as a whole because it was a great range of dress styles which actually surprised me. I thought the dresses were all be princess style and be worn by high school seniors. However, the dresses were beautiful and were perfect for all occasions including proms, galas, parties, events and social gatherings. My favorite pieces are the last two pictures with the same black color and jewels because it was very different from her usual designs and I thought it was very chic and elegant and I could totally see myself wearing it to a special event!

Overall, this year’s fashion week was very eventful. I definitely enjoyed myself and was able to experience different events including parties, lounges, concerts, etc. It was hectic as usual, but I had fun and I am so glad I had the opportunity to attend. I am leaving Spain on Friday, which is a much needed break after all the madness! If you attended NYFW, let me know what your favorite show was!

Seems like you had a wonderful time at NYFW and I’m a bit bummed about missing it, but oh well, July and NYFWM will be here sooner than I realize. 🙂 There’s something about fashion weeks you just never can get enough of! Thanks for you coverage!

It looks like you got to attend some really neat shows! The designs from Milané Noir are my favorite, but I think I would most enjoy Sherry Hill just since I already know the brand pretty well. I experienced some serious FOMO as I saw all the photos from my blogging friends while they were at NYFW. Maybe one day!

You can definitely experience NYFW! I think it’s easier now then it was before. And I think I loved the Milane Noir collection the most but the Sherry Hill dresses were gorgeous as well!

Nice recap. I hope it was the most amazing experience for you. 🙂 I only stayed for 5-6 days, but always feel so exhausted afterwards. Running 4-5 shows a day is tiring but so rewarding. Sherri Hill had some incredible dresses. 🙂 I loved the Gotham theatre, too. Such a grand place to hold the show.

Five to six days is actually enough! I really only 4-5 full days of shows and events and I agree that I was already exhausted by the second day haha.
