JULY 2019 GOALS

What an insane month June has been! I’m not sure if you guys had a jammed packed month, but I certainly did. Two very important events happened in the last 30 days and that was my amazing press trip to Quebec City, my visit to New Orleans and of course gearing up for my move. I am currently in my new apartment and it feels wonderful, but I’d be lying if I said I’m not stressed out. I am surrounded by boxes and in desperate need of organizing as I need to get my life together. However, I know that everything will work out and all will be good within a week or so.

I also knew June was a hectic month because I usually am quite on track with writing my monthly goals, but this month it is getting published a bit later than normal. I love doing these monthly check ins with myself because I am better able to assess where I’m at not only professionally but socially and personally as well. After visiting my three goals for June, I realized I didn’t successfully meet all of them. My first one was to get ready for my move and I certainly did that especially with the physical labor and errands that comes with moving to a new place. My second goal was to find a new intern but I haven’t been able to secure one. I still need one but I guess I haven’t found the right candidate so if you know anyone who is interested, do send them my way! My last goal was to enjoy my two trips which was to New Orleans and Quebec City (you can read all about my experience in the links provided).

Since July has already started, I have carefully come up with the below three goals:

1. Get fully situated in my apartment: I always say that a clean space is good for your soul. I am waiting for some furniture and home decor to arrive but once it does, I want to make it a huge priority to organize and make my apartment feel like home. I also will be doing an apartment interior design dedicated blog post soon so be sure to stay on the lookout for that. Once the decorating begins, I can finally get excited about putting my style and spin on the interior!
2. Enjoy summer/ new apartment: One of the best amenities that my building offers is a rooftop and I want to make it a priority to enjoy summer by taking advantage of the space and the view! It will make for great photos and I can’t wait to start creating content in my space. I also want to make sure I do some NYC summer activities such as visiting the vessel at Hudson Yards, go to Coney Island, have a picnic at Central Park, etc.
3.  Prepare for my season 2 of The City Confessions:  For those that don’t know, I have a podcast called The City Confessions and I originally was planning to take June off to gear up for the second season in July. That obviously didn’t happen with the whole move but I am making sure I put this on top of my to do list for this month. At this time, I am thinking of launching second season at the beginning of August as that seems more realistic with everything that’s on my plate at the moment.

Even though June was a hectic month for me, I think everything will all smooth out in July. My biggest life change is my move so once I get settled in, I can finally enjoy summer and relax. I would love to hear about your goals for this month!
