FEBRUARY 2021 GOALS

And just like that, January is over and we are now in February! Since it was my birthday last week and I’m a January baby, I’m definitely a little biased to say that I had a great January month. Even though it has been brutal in terms of temperatures dropping in NYC, I don’t mind the transition into February. The way I view February is a stepping stone because it is the shortest month of the year and it flies by so quickly that I feel like it’s just getting us ready for March, which also means spring.

As I revisit my January monthly goals, I am proud to say that I can check all four goals with completion. I started off 2021 wanting to get clear on my writing direction and I have made immense progress because my book is officially in the works and I am beyond excited to get it published by the end of the year! I will definitely be talking more about it but as of now, I am going to keep my lips sealed as I don’t want to reveal too much. My second goal was to set a plan for my podcast, which I have successfully done because I actually have all four episodes of this month already recorded and ready to go. Today is the first day that I launched season 5 of The City Confessions, so if you’re looking to hear real stories from real people living in NYC, then head over here to check out this week’s episode.

I wanted to get back on my reading game so in January, I finished the book Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins, which I highly recommend! My roommate also gifted be Barack Obama’s book, which I will be reading for February. If you guys have already read that or have any other book recommendations, please leave a comment below so I can check them out. And lastly, my fourth goal was to do something for my birthday. It was a low-key celebration but nonetheless, I still enjoyed it. I wrote about my experience in my latest blogpost which you can read about here.

February 2021 Goals

  1. Finalize Book Cover Options: Something I am really excited about for February is brainstorming book cover designs. I already have some ideas in mind, but I want to utilize this month to finalize my options. I am going to also make it a priority to go to a bookstore and spend time getting to know what elements of designs and physical aspects of a book that I like. I can’t wait to start this process because I feel like this will be the beginning stages of actually seeing everything come to life!
  2. Minimize Clutter: I believe in a minimalistic wardrobe as well as minimalism in the household. Instead of allowing things to pile up here and there, I want to make it an effort to incorporate cleaning and decluttering to either a weekly task or even a daily task. I always find a clean space helps to also clear the mind!
  3. Do a Weekend Getaway: I haven’t embarked on a weekend getaway in a while and unsurprisingly, my travel bug is kicking in. I know that there are still tons of restrictions but I do think there is still safe ways to explore somewhere I haven’t been for the weekend.
  4. Enjoy Lunar New Year: Lunar New Year is on February 12 and it’s one of my favorite holidays because it’s a special one since I spend all day with my family. We don’t often get together collectively so it’ll be a great excuse to see them and to be in their company. I also love the cultural traditions that surround it because it’s fun watching the lion dance, seeing all the decor in Chinatown and of course receiving the red envelopes 🙂

I hope you have a great February month ahead and I would love to know what goals you have in mind that you want to accomplish in the next 28 days!

I hope you can organise your weekend getaway! These days we are so limited in our travels that a little getaway would do many of us so much good. It could definitely be done safely! 🙂 Have an awesome February Mariann! I would love to see some tips on minimalism if you ever want to share what you learned with your own experience!

You pictures are truly stunning. I really like your editing style. I miss a getaway so much. Can’t believe it’s been over a year since i got inside a plane. I’m so done with this virus… ugh. Btw I am also trying to minimize my clutter. My boyfriend is a minimalist and i’ve learned so much from him.
