VISTA ENCANTADA ESCAPE

I’ve had my eyes on Vista Encantada for a while and have been dreaming to escape to Los Cabos since the winter. Knowing that there were finally direct flights from NYC, I knew I had to experience the upscale property. Whenever I would think about Los Cabos, luxury vacation would come to mind.

VISTA ENCANTADA LOCATION

Vista Encantada is locatated about 40 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport. Flying 6 hours to Baja California Mexico is definitely worth it, especially due to the outstanding hospitality that I experienced. I can’t even rave enough about how welcoming and friendly the staff were especially Gabriel (marketing manager) and Jean-Louise (general manager)! They truly went out of their way to make my guest and I feel special and welcomed.

For some context, Vista Encantada is part of Hacienda Encantada Resort & Residences, a AAA Four Diamond property owned by Mexico Grand Hotels.  It is an adult-oriented luxury property that that offers high quality personal service, standout amenities and stunning views of Sea of Cortez and Baja Coast. I personally would recommend staying at Vista Encantada if you want a more secluded experience. When I explored Hacienda Encatada, I noticed there were more families and crowds and I preferred a more quiet scenery. No matter which resort you stay at, you’ll still have a fantastic time!

VISTA ENCANTADA BOOKING

When booking, guests can choose from two plans including European plan, which is for the room only or the Dine Out Privilege Plan. I was fortunate enough to experience the All Inclusive Plan. And I believe that’s a better option, so you don’t have to worry about extra dining costs. Besides, when you’re on vacation, why not just splurge because vacations should be enjoyed to the maximum.

It is important to note that guests at Vista Encantada have access to all the restaurants across the resort complex including the six restaurants at sister property Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa. In addition, there is free shuttle service between Hacienda Encantada and Marina Fiesta. I didn’t dine at the restaurants at Marina Fiesta since I only stayed three nights. But it could be a nice bonus if you are staying at Vista Encantada long enough.

ONE BEDROOM VISTA SUITE

I stayed at the One Bedroom Vista Suite, which featured a master bedroom with a King bed and a living area with a full kitchen, sitting and dining area, and a lounge area on terrace featuring breathtaking sunrise views. I also loved the bathroom, which came with a shower, bathtub, and double sink. It was very spacious and great for my friend and I to get ready, relax, and even do some work.

The suites are perfect for families or large groups because it’s similar to an apartment or villa. Unlike hotels, the suites give a sense of comfort and vacation. Daniel was my personal butler and he was amazing! We communicated through text and he was able to make my experience more enjoyable. He knew that my friend and I don’t operate without coffee in the mornings, so he made sure we had them at our requested time. Daniel also set up our dedicated area at the rooftop pool along with the fabulous Felipe, so we can get some work done (preferably in the shade). And anything we needed, Daniel was there for us and it made my stay at Vista Encantada an unforgettable one!

ROOFTOP POOL

I spent most of my time at the rooftop pool, which is probably the best part about Vista Encantada. The arches and columns were a unique architectural choice. Center of it all is the open-air swimming pool, which overlooks the beautiful, blue ocean. My vacation mode was instantly activated after seeing the outdoor jacuzzi surrounded by cabanas. And I enjoyed refreshments and classic poolside fare from the nearby rooftop bar Ático throughout the day.

Unsurprisingly, the best times and views are during sunrise and sunset. The first night, we dined at Mestizo del Mar, and had one of the best meals from Chef Oscar Rodríguez García. Our table offered views of the sunset, but when I saw the sun start to go down, I  knew I had to go to the rooftop for the full view. And when I did, I was mesmerized by the sky. I’ve seen tons of sunsets in my lifetime, but this one was something else. The way the sky changed colors and the intensity of the orange hues truly took my breath away. I had no words and we all know that photos don’t often do the real views justice.

My circadian clock usually remains consistent even when I’m traveling so I often woke up during sunrise. On one of those mornings, I went up to the rooftop to admire the view. It was extremely quiet and peaceful and a moment that I embraced while I was at Vista Encantada. I always say switching up an environment is great, but it’s also important to maintain some routines. For me that’s dedicating the first hour of the day to myself.

DINING

I also visited Fresco, which is a casual juice and snack bar, located on the fourth floor of Vista Encantada. The colorful decor made for great photos. I loved how spacious, inviting and bright the space was. It fit perfectly with the healthy offerings from the cafe including smoothies, parfaits and sandwiches.

I also tried Los Riscos and Las Marias, two seafront restaurants, offering spectacular views by the ocean. The property was so generous to give my friend and I “the table” at Los Riscos, which is basically the best seat in the house. It was very thoughtful and I loved that it was a bit secluded from everyone else. Again, the sunset view was everything I could ask for and it was the perfect experience to wrap up our second evening.

MILAGRO SPA

If you offer me a visit to a spa, chances are I won’t say no. I experienced the Mayan Spa and a facial and it was everything I needed and more. Milagro spa has five large treatment rooms, each with an ocean view. Not only was my treatment by Anna extraordinary, but the spa itself is a beautiful haven. I was in love with the stunning outdoor pool, surrounded by bricks and arches. Once I stepped foot, I thought this is truly a painting view!
I know getting a spa treatment during vacation might not high on a priority list for some. After all, the idea of a vacation is already relaxing. However, I think trying a spa treatment actually adds another element to self care and you can’t put a price on that!

TEQUILA MUSEO

We all know that tequila goes hand in hand with Mexico, so it’s no wonder why I had to try a tequila tasting at the Tequila Museo in Vista Encantada. I’m not a huge drinker by any means, but tequila originates from Mexico, so this was a must do. Our tequila sommelier, Javier was very informative and engaging. We tried four tequilas including Don Julio Blanco, Tequila 1800 Reposado, Maestro Dobel Diamante and 400 Conejos Oaxaca Joven. Javier also made hibiscus with a hint of habanero to snack on in between the tasting. I loved it so much, I requested to take some home with me! All in all, I highly recommend adding this experience to your list especially since it’s located on property. It’s a fun activity to do with friends, family or partner and enjoy Mexico’s tequila!

WOODSTOCK NIGHT

On the last night, we experienced Woodstock Night. It is a weekly event that occurs every Wednesday featuring live rock band, Monster at Ático rooftop bar. My friend and I were joined by Gabriel on our farewell dinner the last night. It was the perfect way to end our Cabos adventures as we enjoyed cocktails, tacos, live music and even fireworks! A lot of guests showed up and it was a beautiful moment to gather together and just embrace life and love.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I only stayed for 3 full days, but it was enough for me to make up my mind that I will be returning to Los Cabos. Even though it was a short trip, I still think I made the most of it. Most important, I had a great balance of work, play, and relaxation. Vista Encantada made my first experience to Cabos a memorable one and I’m so grateful for them hosting me! It’s the perfect property to disconnect to connect. When I left, I just kept thinking how amazing everybody at the property was. I truly haven’t experienced such great hospitality anywhere else, so please do yourself a favor and add this to your bucket-list!
