EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT:
This is the first post of 2022 and I am so excited to announce that my book is officially launching on March 1, 2022! I spoke about the process in a few of my monthly goals post last year, but I can’t believe it is all happening. I am excited beyond words, but as you can imagine, I am also overwhelmed with nerves as this is a new chapter I am embarking on. There are definitely some fears, but it’s normal and inevitable especially when it’s something as writing a book for the world to see.
WHY I DECIDED TO WRITE A BOOK:
During Covid, I decided to sit down and write a book. I’ve always been a writer at heart and English was always my favorite subject. Little did I know, I would actually have a book published. And I would never expect it to be about dating. My best friend encouraged me to write a book because I would always call her to dish about my dates. She would live vicariously through me since she is in a relationship. She was always entertained with my storytelling skills. I didn’t have anything holding me back and I thought timing was perfect.
HOW IT ALL STARTED:
Around June 2020, I began to draft my chapters and outline my book and wrote for a month straight. I was surprised at how quickly and naturally the words began to flow out. Interestingly enough, I was still dating at the time so my recaps were timely. I always joke when I reflect on those days and say that the book wrote itself.
When I realized that I had something special to share with the world, I became determined to publish this book. I discovered Mascot Books and the editing stages began in January 2021. It took practically a whole year with the back and forth revisions, book cover designs/files, etc. I received my physical books the first week of 2021, which was so surreal. And I’m so happy to announce that is is launching on March 1, 2022!
WHAT MY BOOK IS ABOUT:
My book is called
Un-Hinged: What I Learned from Saying, “It’s You, It’s Not Me” in the NYC Dating Scene. Now let me just disclose that yes, I document my dating experiences as a single woman in NYC in my mid-late 20s, but that’s just the surface topic. Beyond that, my book is about self development, self discovery and self love. I turn 30 this week and I am ringing this new year as a celebration of my book coming out on March 1, 2022. I am excited to share this with all of you and you can pre-order it
now. You can also get more information on my
website.I am looking forward to take you all along my journey as a first time author!

How exciting! Congratulations and best of luck.
Thank you so much!
Oh Mariann, I am SO excited for you! The design of your book is so cool, and I just spent some time reading through the little sample they have on Amazon. It sounds SO good!! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. I have some posts throughout the year that I write about the books I've read, and would love to include this one in a later post!
I have been happily married for years, but I feel like I'm going to enjoy hearing (or reading, haha!) your experiences and especially will love the self-development and growth part of your journey. I also signed up for your email list on your book's website!
Wishing you a wonderful upcoming weekend, friend!

Congrats on the launch of your book. The topic sounds really interesting. We can learn from dating experiences both our own and those of others- and I love that you say that the book is also about self-journey. The design is fantastic.
Thank you Ivana! Yes it is entertaining and fun but the foundation focuses on self development and self love!
