FASHION TRENDS SPRING/SUMMER 2019

As you all know, I attended fashion week this year which allowed me to get a glimpse of what next season’s fashion trends will be like. NYFW has several new trends that have caught my eye for spring/summer 2019. There are some edgy, feminine, and throwback trends that I am super excited to see next year. Here is a roundup of some of my favorite ones:

  • Two-Toned:  I have always been a huge fan of color- blocking and seeing a bunch of two-toned outfits on the runway has made me super excited for spring and summer. This trend is perfect for standing out once the warmer months roll around next year. The two-toned trend is perfect for those of you who love mixing and matching colors because you never have to worry about settling for a uniform look. It’s also a lot of fun to see what colors actually complement each other.

  • Yellow: If you’re wondering what the It-color of next season is, look no further. Yellow of all shades from pale egg yolk to bright marigold has been littered all across the runway. This is the perfect color for spring and summer because I personally think its synonymous with sunshine and warm weather. When you start seeing people wearing yellow next season, it will signify that the cold months are over and spring has finally started to arrive.

  • Suits: This is not the typical two-piece suit that you are imagining. Next year you will see suits with shorts instead of the typical trouser as well as including a variety of fabrics and color. It could be tweed, satin, or silk. It gives leeway for more creativity for an ensemble where there typically isn’t wany. This gives a whole new meaning to the average suit and I cannot wait for this trend to hit the streets of New York.

  • Tie-Dye: Prepare for the 70s to come back for spring and summer next year because the tie-dye trend is here. It is time to bring back your more funky side and explore this trend. I was surprised to see how many times I saw these looks on the runway. I love playing with color and I can’t wait to experiment with this style during the spring. However, the design is extremely fun and I’m excited to see how people will style this trend next year.
  • Bows: This adorable and feminine trends will be all over dresses and blouses during spring and summer. Bows are such a cute accent that will draw your eye and can be used in so many fun ways. Whether it be to tie sleeves together or just sewn onto a clothing piece, there are so many ways to wear them. Even though they’ve already been around for a while, I’m sure you’ll be seeing sure to see much more of them next season.

I love how fun all of these trends are for next season. Even though fall has barely started, these new styles has me so excited for spring and summer. Let me know what trend you’re most excited for next season!
