DECEMBER 2020 GOALS

Wow, this is the last monthly goals post for 2020 and I can’t believe this year is practically over. It’s been a rollercoaster ride as I’m sure many of you can agree but the good news is that we’ve made it, we’re still here and we’re still going. I personally felt like November was a longer month, but it was still a great month. Since we all just celebrated Thanksgiving last week, I hope you all had a great time with your friends and family or even alone. As I stated before, I don’t go away for the holidays because my family is here and I have a rather small family, so Thanksgiving for me was intimate.

Even though we only have one more month of the year, I still like to finish it strong as I know a lot of people tend to feel less motivated and fall into the winter slump. I also think if you make a priority list of things you still want to accomplish before the year is over, you are more likely to still feel driven. As I revisit my four monthly goals from November, I can openly say that I have completed them in its entirety or to some capacity.

I wanted to go full force with my business and if you guys didn’t know, I recently joined Jet Black Social Club as the Chief Operating Officer and you can read more about my announcement here. It’s been one month working on the business with my cofounder and it’s been an exciting journey. We are learning a lot and I am looking forward to what’s in store for us in 2021! I also completed my holiday shopping thanks to the Black Friday deals and all I need to do now is get some holiday cards and gift wrapping, two things that I love during this time of the year.

My other goal was to be more organized and I think I have made progress in that area. There are still instances where I may have let some things go but it’s still a work in progress and I recognize that. My last goal was to celebrate Thanksgiving my way and I invited my mom and younger sister to my apartment and I cooked them some meals including mac and cheese, chili, mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. We had a great time and it was nice to be able to host a Thanksgiving dinner for them for the first time.

As we welcome December tomorrow, I have come up with the below four goals to wrap up 2020.

  1. Finish my book: So a secret project I have been working on is a book. I am not going to reveal what it’s about but I have a rough draft of it completed already. I want to fine tune the details and finish the first version of it by the end of the year. I am excited but also nervous about it and I still don’t know if I am going to publish it yet but it’s something that I want to put more attention towards in December.
  2. Wrap up my podcast and plan Season 5: I will be wrapping up season 4 of my podcast The City Confessions with a solo episode going live at the end of the month. I will be taking January off but coming back for season 5 on January 25th and I need to plan my first few guests for February.
  3. Plan a staycationI know that I can’t travel internationally right now, so my goal is to try and plan a staycation for December. The thought of staycations were never appealing to me before but I think right now it’s the perfect time to have a different change of scenery but still be in NYC for it.
  4. Bake Holiday Cookies and get a Ginger Bread HouseThe best part about the holidays aside from gift giving is eating! I would love to use this relaxing time to bake some holiday cookies and get a ginger bread house. I don’t remember the last time I decorated a ginger bread house so it would be a fun activity to do with my roommate.

I hope you guys are excited about December as I am. I always say it’s about mindset and reframing situations in a positive light. I encourage you all to take this last month as an opportunity to still check off whatever is on your list because you still have time! If that means to just relax and take it easy, that’s okay too 🙂
