Must Have Baby Items for Moms of Two

As a mom of two, I’ve learned that having the right baby gear can make all the difference. Here are the must have baby items for moms of two that have made life easier and more manageable. When juggling the needs of both a newborn and a toddler, efficiency and convenience are key. These are all new purchases that have allowed me to focus on what truly matters: soaking in all the precious moments with my little ones.

Must Have Baby Items for Moms of 2:

1. Baby Carriers

A baby carrier is a lifesaver, especially when you have an older child who still needs your attention. The Solly Baby Wrap is lightweight, breathable, and incredibly soft, making it perfect for newborns. I have to admit, I was intimidated at first because I was used to structured carriers. However, with some practice, I learned how easy it was to use. I also loved how secure my baby felt snuggled against me. It also helped me multitask—whether tending to my toddler, getting things done around the house, or just enjoying some hands-free cuddle time. My other favorite carrier to take outside is the Ergobaby Embrace, which I used during my first pregnancy. Once my daughter grows older, I’ll upgrade to using the Ergobaby Omni Deluxe. One of my favorite features is that it has 6 storage areas for phone, wallet, keys – the most of any baby carrier on the market!

2. Nanit Pro Baby Monitor

Sleep is a hot commodity in a household with two little ones, and peace of mind is priceless. The Nanit Pro Baby Monitor provides crystal-clear video, real-time sound and motion notifications, and sleep tracking analytics, so I could monitor my baby without constantly hovering. The app integration allowed me to check in even when I wasn’t in the same room—something that became essential when managing two kids. (We already have one for our son but purchased a second one for our daughter because we love it so much!)

3. Hatch Rest Sound Machine

A solid sleep routine is crucial, and the Hatch Rest Sound Machine has been a game-changer. It combines a nightlight, sound machine, and time-to-rise alert all in one. I use it to create a soothing sleep environment for my baby while also setting cues for my toddler’s bedtime and wake-up time. The fact that it’s customizable via an app makes it even more convenient! (We have one in our son’s room and in our room since our daughter is still in the bassinet beside us).

4. Double Stroller

With two kids, a reliable stroller is a must. We already owned the UPPAbaby VISTA V3 with our first. This grows with your family, making it perfect for accommodating both a newborn and a toddler. It glides smoothly, has tons of storage space, and easily converts into different configurations. I can use it with a bassinet, a toddler seat, or both. If you’re looking for a long-term stroller investment, this is the one! Another option we just got is The Twinᵛ² from Zoe. This is a side by side stroller, which is great especially when my daughter grows a little older. It’s super lightweight and easy to put together. It is also compact, folds easily, perfect for NYC apartments and make tackling errands with kids a breeze!

5.  3-Tier Rolling Utility Cart

Having a newborn means you need easy access to diapers, wipes, bottles, burp cloths—you name it. This 3-Tier Rolling Utility Cart has been the perfect bedside solution for storing all my baby essentials in one place. It’s lightweight, mobile, and keeps everything within arm’s reach, whether I’m in the nursery, bedroom, or even moving it to the living room.

6. Night Light

A soft nightlight is a must for late-night feedings and diaper changes. The JolyWell Night Light offers adjustable brightness and multiple color options, making it ideal for tending to my baby at bedtime. I love that it’s rechargeable and portable, so I can easily move it from room to room.

7. Over Door Organizer

Organization is key when managing two little ones. This Over Door Organizer has been a game-changer for keeping things neat and accessible. With five large pockets and ten mesh side pockets, it holds everything from diapers and wipes to pacifiers and onesies. I hung it on the nursery door, and it instantly freed up so much space while keeping essentials within easy reach.

8. Motif Roam Breast Pump

For my breastfeeding or pumping mamas, the Motif Roam has been a game changer. It is a durable and flexible breast pump designed to keep up with busy moms. It features a digital screen and multiple pumping modes, including Cluster Feeding Mode, which mimics a baby’s natural feeding patterns to help boost milk supply. Its compact design allows for discreet pumping anywhere, making it a must-have for on-the-go moms or busy moms at home. I personally found it very comfortable and easy to use. I am able to wear it while I tend to both kids and have had zero issues with the fit or output!

Final Thoughts

Each of these items has played a pivotal role in making life as a mom of two more manageable. From keeping my babies cozy and safe to helping me stay organized, they’ve been worth every penny. If you’re expecting baby #2, I hope this list of must have baby items for moms of two help you navigate the transition with a little more ease and a lot more joy
