Hello July! I’m actually so happy that we have overcame the first 6 months of 2020 because if I’m going to be real with ya’ll, I wasn’t sure that we were going to make it. I am still very aware that we are in a pandemic, but I definitely feel better knowing that NYC in particular is doing a great job in maintaining our progress with flattening the curve and keeping our numbers low in terms of COVID cases.

As always, I write monthly goals as it helps for me to not only reassess the past month but also be more mindful of what I hope to achieve in the next 30 days. As I revisit my June goals, I can still remember exactly where my mind was at during that time. I simply wanted to go with the flow and make the most of what I can. I didn’t exactly have a gathering with my friends in the way I had imagined, but I have seen a few friends here and there and that has been refreshing. I was also able to see my family for the first time in three months for Father’s Day and I thoroughly enjoyed that.

I have successfully been repurposing my travel content on social media and I am happy to know that they are still relevant, which takes the pressure off to create new content. I also just released my last episode of season three of my podcast, The City Confessions, so if you have a moment, feel free to have a listen to my solo episode detailing my experience with anxiety and how I deal with it on  a daily basis. And my last goal was to reorganize my apartment but as we all know, decorating is a process so I know that that will carry onto July.

And speaking of July, here are my main priorities for this month:

  • Spend more time outdoorsThis is a given but I feel like July is the height of summer and I want to be outside as much as possible. I want to make it a priority to be on the beach and feel the sand as much as I can and be grounded with nature. I am going to be in Long Island for the Fourth of July weekend so I think it’ll be a great start to being by the beach and spending time at the pool.
  • Do a weekend getaway with the girls: I’ve been meaning to do a weekend getaway with my friends and we have been talking about it recently so I definitely want to get this in the books and make it happen! I miss them so much and I also think it’ll be a great opportunity to satisfy my travel bug at the same time.
  • See more of my friends: Since quarantine, I think I have seen 3 of my friends but now that things are opening up in NYC, I want to see more of my friends. Summer should be enjoyed with people that you love so I will be trying my best to reconnect with friends in person.
  • Go to the city more: I am a city girl but since this whole pandemic, I have only been to the Lower East Side to visit my family.I haven’t ventured beyond that area and I want to visit neighborhoods that I love including West Village, Flatiron, Central Park and Bryant Park. I feel more comfortable now taking the train than I did before so I want to slowly ease back into exploring NYC (while of course wearing a mask and practicing social distancing!).

I have a feeling that July will be a good month and will be a month for relaxation and happiness. The main theme for the next 30 days for me will be good vibes and good company. What are your main goals for July?!

    • I love hearing that and it sounds great to have adventures with your boyfriend :)

  • I wish I had the courage to have these kind of goals. I won't say I'm scared of hanging out but I'm scared.
I'll jus t have zoom or FaceTime hangout.....hahahahahah

    • That's totally fine! I think you should do whatever works for you :)

  • I know things have been on another level with the pandemic. I literally have been home for 4 months. I went to a fashion show on March 8th and other then grocery shopping and two trips to a nursery I did not leave my house until June 14th to attend a BLM protest and then yesterday where I met up with a friend for the first time since the 8th of March.

I hope you can meet all these goals!

    • It's definitely a weird time right now but I hope you're hanging in there!

    • It's definitely difficult and I'm trying to navigate through it too but if you can't meet them in person, you should still try to Facetime them!

  • Worthy July goals! Here in Sin City, we flattened the curve, and had a partial reopening starting May 9th. But mask wearing wasn’t mandatory and people left their fears behind. We now have a sharp uptick in cases. I miss going to the shows and concerts once so readily available here in Vegas, but I am happy to be a hermit during the pandemic.

    • It's a blessing in disguise for sure. I think it's important to use this time to self reflect and think about our priorities.

  • What a great list of goals! Sounds like quality time all over! Now as most of us have part of our freedom back, we value the time with loved ones even more. Before corona we didn't really know what it is like to be stuck inside.

    lots of love, Miri
